23rd Street Lunar New Year - Year of the Goat Australian Single Malt Whisky is a limited release from 23rd Street Distillery in Renmark, South Australia, created to celebrate the 2027 Lunar New Year. Crafted from barley grown on Kangaroo Island, the whisky is matured in charred oak barrels and finished in Galway Pipe Tawny casks that previously held tawny aged for over 15 years. This combination brings together gentle malt sweetness, oak depth and rich fortified-wine influences in an elegant Australian single malt.

The nose offers inviting notes of toffee, vanilla and butterscotch alongside rich raisins and dark fruit. Gentle roasted malt and caramelised sugar contribute warmth, complemented by subtle oak and spice.

The palate balances generous sweetness with warming spice, revealing layers of toffee, raisin and butterscotch over a softly roasted barley foundation. Delicate vanilla and dark fruit add richness, while charred oak contributes structure and depth. The tawny cask influence brings further complexity through caramelised sugar and lingering spice.

The finish is warm and lingering, carrying the whisky’s sweet malt, rich fruit and gentle spice into an elegant conclusion.
