De Bortoli Ancient Soils Tempranillo Touriga 2024 is produced by De Bortoli Wines from Tempranillo and Touriga Nacional grown in the Heathcote Ridge and Rathjen vineyards of northern Heathcote, Australia. The 2024 season was late and cool with timely rainfall, providing favourable conditions for these Mediterranean varieties. Each variety was vinified separately in open-top and closed fermenters with a 14-day warm fermentation, followed by four months in 500-litre French oak puncheons, 5% new.
The appearance is brilliant crimson-purple with vibrant youthful intensity.
The nose is deeply scented and concentrated, showing dark fruits layered with spice and fragrant violet notes.
The palate is textural and plummy with excellent dark-fruit concentration, supple integrated tannins and a generous, beautifully balanced mouthfeel.
A compelling Heathcote red blend that showcases the affinity of Tempranillo and Touriga Nacional with the region's ancient Cambrian soils, with the award-winning 2024 vintage combining concentration, perfume and supple structure.
