Henschke Johann's Garden Grenache Mataro 2024 is a distinguished Barossa Valley red from Henschke, South Australia, presented here in a 1.5L magnum with wooden gift box. Produced from low-yielding old vines across selected Barossa Valley vineyards, the blend comprises 60% Grenache and 40% Mataro. The varieties are vinified separately using traditional techniques before maturation for 10 months in predominantly seasoned oak hogsheads.

Medium ruby in appearance with vibrant crimson hues.

The nose is highly perfumed and expressive, opening with raspberry, black cherry and fresh plum, layered with violet, bergamot and lavender. Nuances of nutmeg, oregano, liquorice and cedar add aromatic complexity and savoury depth.

Rich and plush on the palate, with a bright core of redcurrant, pomegranate and rhubarb complemented by darker herbal notes. Lively acidity brings freshness and energy, while supple, fine-grained tannins provide structure and definition.
