The 2021 is 100% Shiraz from dry-grown, ungrafted vines planted in 1912, making Mount Edelstone one of Australia’s most significant old-vine single-vineyard wines. The 2021 vintage has been recognised as an outstanding release, with critics highlighting its exceptional fruit definition, energy, graceful structure and capacity to age for decades.

The appearance is deep crimson with vibrant youthful hues.

The nose is highly perfumed and detailed, showing concentrated dark and red fruits with floral lift, savoury herbs, pepper and spice. Layers of mineral, earthy and subtle oak complexity add depth while preserving the distinctive aromatic purity of the Mount Edelstone vineyard.

The palate is elegant, energetic and beautifully proportioned, combining concentrated Shiraz fruit with savoury complexity and remarkable freshness. Velvety texture flows across the palate, supported by superfine, powdery tannins and a fresh mineral character that provides definition, precision and exceptional length.
