Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz 2022 is produced by Henschke from the historic Mount Edelstone Vineyard in Eden Valley, South Australia. The 2022 marks the 70th vintage of this celebrated single-vineyard wine and is 100% Shiraz from dry-grown, ungrafted vines planted in 1912. Following a late season and modest yields, the fruit was harvested between 31 March and 12 April and matured for 20 months in French oak hogsheads, comprising just 8% new and 92% seasoned oak. Henschke rates 2022 as an exceptional vintage with more than 30 years of cellaring potential.

The appearance is deep crimson with vibrant purple hues.

The nose is captivating and complex, showing dark bramble fruits, black cherry and satsuma plum entwined with sage, bay leaf, thyme, black pepper and cedar.

The palate is rich and concentrated, unfolding with layers of black and blue fruits alongside anise, cocoa, dark spices and crushed savoury herbs. Supple, velvety tannins provide elegant structure and harmony, carrying the concentrated fruit through the palate with impressive balance.
