Irrewarra Chardonnay from a Farr 750ml

Irrewarra Chardonnay is produced by Irrewarra under the stewardship of the Farr family from a cool-climate vineyard near Colac in Victoria's Western District, Australia. The vineyard was planted by the Calvert family in 2001 and contains two acres of Chardonnay on its own roots. The cool, exposed site and clay-based soils produce Chardonnay characterised by natural acidity, mineral drive and a strong expression of place.

The appearance is bright pale gold with youthful clarity.

The nose is fresh and finely detailed, with citrus and stone fruit supported by subtle nutty, savoury and mineral notes.

The palate is precise, slippery and mineral-driven, combining citrus and stone fruit with a fine creamy texture. A strong backbone of natural acidity provides tension and length, while restrained oak adds complexity without obscuring the cool-climate fruit.
