Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz 2021 is produced by Kaesler Wines in the Barossa Valley, Australia, from an exceptionally old Shiraz vineyard planted in 1893. The flagship of the Kaesler range, the 2021 vintage captures the concentration of these ancient vines while retaining the balance, structure and freshness of an outstanding Barossa growing season.

The appearance is deep, dense crimson with youthful purple-black hues.

The nose is powerful and complex, revealing blackberry, black plum and blueberry with layers of liquorice, dark chocolate, black pepper and aromatic spice. Savoury notes, cedar and finely integrated oak add further depth.

The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and richly textured, with intense black and blue fruits layered with dark chocolate, liquorice and savoury spice. Dense yet finely formed tannins provide formidable structure, while freshness and carefully integrated oak keep the considerable fruit weight balanced and controlled.
