Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a bold and vibrant Islay single malt Scotch whisky produced at the historic Lagavulin Distillery on the south coast of Islay, Scotland. Originally released to commemorate the distillery’s 200th anniversary, this expression showcases a younger, more energetic side of Lagavulin’s character while retaining the signature smoky intensity for which the distillery is renowned. Matured in oak casks, predominantly ex-bourbon, it highlights the purity of spirit and the powerful influence of peat and maritime conditions.

Bright gold in colour, the nose is fresh and assertive, with immediate bursts of peat smoke, sea spray and charred wood. Notes of lemon zest, green apple and subtle vanilla emerge, alongside hints of black pepper and a clean, mineral edge that reflects its coastal origins.

The palate is lively and medium to full-bodied, delivering intense smoke balanced by citrus brightness and a touch of sweetness. Flavours of toasted malt, cracked pepper and light caramel develop, supported by a crisp acidity that gives the whisky drive and structure. The finish is long, smoky and slightly drying, with lingering ash, spice and a fresh maritime character.
