Lethbridge Shiraz is produced by Lethbridge Wines in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. A long-standing expression of cool-climate Shiraz, it is shaped by Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis with an emphasis on balance rather than fashion—combining the ripeness and depth associated with Australian Shiraz with the perfume, spice and savoury detail of Syrah. The wine has historically drawn on mature Geelong vineyards, including old vines at Mount Duneed, with low yields, indigenous fermentation and French oak maturation central to its production.

The appearance is deep ruby to crimson, typically showing excellent colour intensity with youthful purple tones.

The nose combines blackberry, black cherry and blood plum with violet, liquorice and bramble, moving into distinctly savoury notes of black pepper, smoked meat, herbs and earth. The aromatic profile is expressive yet restrained, with the floral lift and peppery detail characteristic of Shiraz grown in Geelong's cool maritime climate.

The palate is concentrated and finely structured rather than simply powerful. Dark cherry, blackberry and plum are layered with liquorice, pepper, savoury meat and earthy complexity. Fresh acidity keeps the fruit energetic, while persistent, finely woven tannins provide shape and considerable length. Oak sits within the structure rather than dominating, allowing the combination of ripe fruit, spice and savouriness to remain the focus.

A serious, age-worthy Geelong Shiraz that captures Lethbridge's distinctive middle ground between richly fruited Australian Shiraz and the fragrant, peppery restraint associated with Syrah.
