Midleton Very Rare 2024 Vintage Release in one of Ireland’s most prestigious annual whiskey series, produced at the renowned Midleton Distillery in County Cork. First introduced in 1984, Midleton Very Rare represents the pinnacle of Irish blending, with each vintage crafted from exceptional single pot still and grain whiskeys hand-selected by the Master Distiller. The 2024 edition, created by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman, continues this tradition by combining carefully matured whiskeys aged between approximately 12 and 25 years in lightly charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels, delivering the elegant, balanced style that has defined the Midleton Very Rare legacy for four decades.

Golden amber in colour, the whiskey opens with refined aromas of orchard fruits, vanilla and floral honey, complemented by gentle notes of cinnamon, clove and freshly cut hay. As it develops in the glass, layers of sweet pear, apple and subtle pot still spice emerge alongside hints of toasted oak and caramel.

The palate is silky and composed, offering a harmonious balance of tropical fruit, peach and nectarine with rich flavours of crème brûlée, toffee apple and chocolate-dipped honeycomb. Soft grain sweetness and delicate pot still spice combine with the influence of American oak to create depth without overwhelming the whiskey’s trademark finesse. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering notes of fruit, honeyed oak and gentle spice.

Each bottle of Midleton Very Rare is individually numbered and released once per year, making it both a collector’s piece and a benchmark example of premium Irish whiskey craftsmanship.
